Two years ago, the poster and his wife were involved in an unthinkable tragedy, a car crash that killed her father and younger brother and nearly took him, the husband. His wife has been grieving ever since, experiencing spells of kindness and uncontrollable fury that are more often than not directed at him as she takes out her pain on him and blames him for their deaths. Although he loves her deeply and respects the memory of her father, whom he held in high esteem, constant accusations have taken a toll on him emotionally.

He’s attempted therapy alone, but she won’t engage in any kind of counseling, preferring to live in her grief and resentment. The husband is caught between two emotion:s, his love and his breaking point, wanting to do whatever he can to satisfy his late father-in-law’s desire to help take care of his daughter, while also recognizing that maybe sticking around may not be serving either of them. He wonders if it would be cruel, after all the hurting they’ve done, to end the marriage, or if it’s the only shot either of them has to heal from a loss neither one truly inflicted.

WIBTAH if I get a divorce because my wife won’t stop blaming me for my father and brother in law’s deaths?
