The crowd at Skate Canada was completely captivated by Alexandra, gliding across the rink in her black-and-white outfit with a perfectly coordinated hairstyle. But once the footage hit YouTube, it exploded—drawing in millions of views.
When it comes to raw talent, Alexandra stands in a league of her own. She’s pushing the front of the women’s figure skating field, even landing the elusive quadruple jump—a move long considered exclusive to men.
Women in the sport rarely even tried the quad—not due to lack of ability, but because it was viewed as unsuitable. One skater from the U.S. was even criticized for daring to include it in her routine.
That’s no longer the situation, though—now Alexandra proves she can land those jumps with ease. It’s easy to see why she’s collected so many medals in recent years, including four bronze, two silver, and three gold.
She also claimed victory at the World Junior Championships, and now that she’s turned 18, it’s clear she’s poised to earn more wins at the senior level.
