Ashley St. Clair, who claims to be the mother of Elon Musk’s 13th child, has come forward with details about the sum the billionaire reportedly offered her in exchange for keeping their child’s existence private.
On February 15, St. Clair took to social media to announce that her son is, in fact, Musk’s 13th child.

She wrote: “Five months ago, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Elon Musk is his father. Until now, I chose not to share this information publicly in order to safeguard our child’s well-being and privacy. However, recent developments suggest that tabloid outlets are prepared to release this information regardless of the potential harm it could cause.
“My goal is to raise our child in a secure and grounded environment. I respectfully urge the media to respect our child’s privacy and avoid intrusive coverage.”

At 26, Ashley St. Clair took to X to publicly criticize Elon Musk, alleging that the billionaire personally chose their son’s name.
In a video posted to the platform, St. Clair is seen responding to reporters’ questions while attempting to sell her $100,000 Tesla—an apparent gift from Musk.
When questioned about her reason for parting with the vehicle, she replied, “I need to offset the 60 percent reduction Elon made to our son’s child support.”
She was then asked whether she believed Musk’s actions were retaliatory. “That’s how he operates when women speak out,” she said candidly.
“You can look at the markets—I’m far from the only person left picking up the pieces after him. Wall Street is just now catching on to what I’ve understood for a while.”
In response to her claims, Musk addressed the situation on X. “I don’t know whether or not the child is mine, but I’m open to confirming it. No court order is necessary,” he posted.
“Even without certainty, I’ve given Ashley $2.5 million and continue to provide $500,000 annually.”
St. Clair quickly responded with her own post: “Elon, we requested a paternity test before our son was even born—and you declined.”
“You weren’t sending money to me. It was for your child, whom you named, and you decided to cut most of that support as a way to assert control and punish me for not falling in line. But the one truly suffering is your son.”
“What’s especially disturbing is your attempt to silence me in court, while using a platform you literally own to share demeaning remarks about me and our child. It’s about control, and people are finally seeing it.”
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, St. Clair revealed their child is named Romulus St. Clair. While she confirmed that she and Musk had discussed the middle name, she chose not to elaborate further.
According to the outlet, Musk had allegedly offered her $15 million and a monthly stipend of $100,000 in exchange for keeping the child’s existence confidential. The proposed deal would have barred St. Clair from making any negative public comments about Musk, though he would be free to speak about her as he pleased.
The report also claimed that Jared Birchall, a close Musk associate, informed St. Clair that similar agreements exist with the mothers of Musk’s other children.
To date, Musk has not confirmed whether or not Romulus is his biological son.
St. Clair disclosed that the first time they were intimate, Musk made a joking remark about choosing a name for a future child.
Months later, during a New Year’s trip to St. Barts, St. Clair mentioned she was ovulating. “He asked, ‘What are we waiting for?’” she recalled. The two conceived Romulus during that vacation.
In February, St. Clair filed two legal petitions—one for sole custody and another requesting Musk undergo a paternity test.
Her representative, Brian Glicklich, posted on X that St. Clair and Musk had been “privately working toward a parenting agreement for some time.” He added it was “disheartening” that a tabloid journalist repeatedly confronted St. Clair and her loved ones, making it impossible to resolve matters discreetly.
“We’re still awaiting Elon’s public acknowledgment of his role as a father to end unnecessary speculation,” the statement read. “Ashley remains hopeful that Elon will finalize the agreement soon, prioritizing their child’s safety and well-being.”
Musk responded with a simple post:
Whoa

She stated that she and Musk were romantically involved around May 2023 and that they were intimate again in the early part of 2024. Their child was born in September of that year.

The documents also state that Musk was not present at the time of the child’s birth and has only seen the baby on three occasions since his arrival.
St. Clair alleged that Musk had acknowledged the child as his in multiple written exchanges and shared screenshots of what she claimed were text messages between them.
In one of the messages, Musk reportedly asked, “All well?” to which she responded, “He is perfect.” Musk then replied, “I look forward to seeing you and him this weekend.”
In another alleged exchange, St. Clair sent a selfie featuring herself and a friend, prompting Musk to reply, “Hi cutie.” She responded with, “Hi, see u soon.”

Additional screenshots revealed what appeared to be a conversation between the pair about the child’s safety. In one message, Musk allegedly wrote, “If I make a mistake on security, [R.S.C.] will never know his father.”
St. Clair responded, “That’s why the father spot on his birth certificate is blank, right, E.? And why he carries my last name.”

A court order was later issued to seal the case from public view.
All previously accessible filings have since been sealed, and any future hearings related to the matter will be held behind closed doors.
Musk has also retained legal counsel and is expected to appear in court in late May as the custody dispute moves forward.

St. Clair’s attorney, Karen Rosenthal, stated, “The courtroom will be closed, and the record sealed. Beyond that, I have no further comment.”
Musk has publicly acknowledged 12 children with three different women. If the child is confirmed to be his, St. Clair would become the fourth woman involved in his family.
