Billie Eilish recently saw a significant dip in her Instagram following, losing over 100,000 followers after sharing a photo where she donned a corset, revealing more of her figure.
The 23-year-old rose to prominence with the release of her breakout hit Ocean Eyes in 2015, and since then, she has become one of the most influential stars of her generation, amassing a massive 124 million followers on the platform.
In 2021, while promoting her album Happier Than Ever, Eilish debuted a new look, including blonde hair and a corset, sparking reactions from fans.

Many of Billie Eilish’s followers were not thrilled with her new appearance. Some expressed their disappointment, with one fan commenting, “I used to love Billie until she changed.” Another follower lamented, “Bring back the green hair!” while a third criticized her by saying, “Not a role model anymore.”
Eilish, however, wasn’t shy about addressing the backlash. In an interview with CBS, she defended her choice to embrace a more feminine style, saying, “I spent the first five years of my career getting absolutely obliterated by you fools for being boyish and dressing how I did, and constantly being told I’d be hotter if I acted like a woman. And now when I feel comfortable enough to wear anything remotely feminine or fitting, I’ve changed and am a sellout.” She firmly added, “I can be both.”
This is not the first time Billie has stood her ground against critics. In 2020, she participated in the “post a picture” social media trend, where she shared an image of her sketchbook, which featured drawings of nude women, further expressing her commitment to self-expression despite public scrutiny.

Following the controversial post, Billie Eilish’s Instagram account saw a noticeable decrease, dropping from 73 million followers to 72.9 million.
In response to the significant loss, the singer took to social media with her trademark humor, simply commenting, “LMFAOOO y’all babies smh.”
