Since becoming parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the Prince and Princess of Wales have consistently emphasized the value of key life lessons.
Above all, the royal couple have emphasized the importance of philanthropy, advocacy, and giving back—values that the late Princess Diana deeply ingrained in Prince William and Prince Harry from an early age by bringing them along on charity visits, especially those dedicated to addressing homelessness.
Diana, Princess Of Wales was a patron of Centrepoint
Reflecting on his mother’s impactful tradition, William shared in 2018: “Without me even realizing it, my parents were shaping a lifelong commitment in Harry and me to make charity a central part of our lives.”
One of the most unforgettable moments was when William and Harry accompanied their mother, Diana, on a visit to the homelessness charity Centrepoint. William later admitted that he felt “anxious about what to expect” at the time.

Although George, Charlotte, and Louis have yet to visit a charity dedicated to combating homelessness, William has already begun having meaningful discussions about the issue with his children during school runs. In an ITV documentary, the father of three shared:“The first few times, I wondered, ‘Should I mention this, or should I wait and see if they notice on their own?’”
“Sure enough, they did notice. When I explained what was happening, they just sat there in silence, taking it all in.”

In July last year, The Times reported that William was contemplating a meaningful visit to a homelessness center with all three of his children—a gesture reminiscent of Diana’s visits years ago.
Carrying on Diana’s heartfelt tradition, William and Catherine have begun to introduce their three children to the world of charity work. In November 2023, the Wales family made it a group effort as George, Charlotte, and Louis accompanied their mother on a visit to a local baby bank.
The three siblings were featured in a heartwarming video, captured by Will Warr, where they were seen assisting in carrying cardboard boxes packed with toys and books.

During the visit, Princess Catherine explained to her children, “Here, many people give their time, and there are lots of volunteers who come to help. So, tonight, you’re the volunteers.”
She continued, “You can see how rewarding this work is, knowing that you’re making a difference and helping others.”
Earlier that May, George, Charlotte, and Louis enthusiastically participated in the ‘Big Help Out’ volunteer day in Slough. Throughout the afternoon, they tackled various hands-on tasks, including sanding, planting, and painting.

In January, William revisited Centrepoint in his capacity as the charity’s patron. He stopped by a hub in Ealing that provides urgent support and counseling, along with long-term assistance like education and job opportunities.
During his visit, William spoke with young adults who had faced homelessness and even took part in a boxing session.
