Man Who Ate Nearly 1,000 Eggs in a Month Shares Surprising Effect on His Sex Drive

A man who devoured nearly 1,000 eggs in just one month has opened up about how it affected his sex drive — and the results might not be what you expect.

YouTube challenges have come a long way since the era of the Cinnamon Challenge and the Harlem Shake.

Nowadays, creators are spending big to review every airline in the U.S., downing massive amounts of liquid to test productivity, and even renting out three Egyptian pyramids—just to craft content for our entertainment.

One such YouTuber pushing boundaries to captivate audiences is Joseph Everett. The Japan-based creator shared his egg-fueled experiment on his channel, ‘What I’ve Learned.’

In December 2022, Joseph Everett uploaded a video titled “I Ate 900 Eggs in 1 Month. Here’s What Happened to My Cholesterol,” aiming to see if a strict diet could boost his overall strength.

In the video, he shared that he first consumed the eggs blended into a protein fruit smoothie before switching to meals of rice, beef, and protein bars.

By day five, the sheer number of eggs in his diet started wreaking havoc on his digestion, forcing him to begin cooking them instead.

However, by day nine, he noticed an unexpected change—his sex drive.

“That was the day I realized I’d been feeling amazing,” Everett said. “I was more focused, had endless energy, both in and out of the gym.”

The fitness buff also noted that his libido had noticeably increased beyond its usual level.

At first glance, the notion that eggs could enhance one’s sex drive might seem unusual, yet some specialists firmly believe this to be true.

According to Dr. Arun Kumar, who writes for Practo.com, eggs are rich in the amino acid L-arginine, which has been found to help some men with erectile dysfunction.

not be enough to improve your sex life,” he explained, suggesting that individuals experiencing low desire or discomfort during intimacy consult a doctor.

Meanwhile, Rajeswari V Shetty, Consultant and Head of Dietetics at SL Raheja Hospital in Mahim, Mumbai, told Healthshots that the vitamin B in eggs plays a role in boosting libido while also promoting a relaxed mind.

“Additionally, eggs help combat stress and stabilize hormone levels, both of which are crucial for maintaining a healthy sex drive,” the expert stated.

“They can be eaten in multiple ways, such as boiled, scrambled, or poached.”

Naturally, consuming eggs isn’t the only way to enhance libido, as OB/GYN Salena Zanotti suggests that couples explore talk therapy for additional support.

“For most people, sexual desire has two key components—you need a physical response, but you also have to be mentally engaged,” she explained to the Cleveland Clinic.

“If your mind is preoccupied with other worries, it’s easy for your interest in sex to decline.”

Other natural methods to enhance libido include reducing stress levels, ensuring quality sleep, and maintaining a well-balanced, nutrient-rich diet.

A 2015 study discovered that engaging in regular physical activity can boost sexual desire, help navigate relationship transitions, and improve body image confidence. Meanwhile, Medical News Today reports that quitting smoking may resolve certain sexual dysfunction issues.

Toward the end of his video, Everett shared that he had gained an impressive 13 pounds of muscle and noticed significant progress in his strength training.

He also mentioned that there was no noticeable spike in ‘bad cholesterol’ in his blood, though he did experience reduced sleep throughout the experiment.
