Man Earns $72,000 in Just Six Weeks from a Simple Idea Sparked During a Night Out

A man has shared how a late-night idea turned into nearly $72,000 in earnings over just six weeks.

We’ve all had those post-drinks brainwaves—usually ending in fast food binges or a desperate search for water before crashing into bed.

But Bailey Page, hailing from Queensland, Australia, came up with something far more lucrative after hitting a snag during his night out.

It began when Bailey’s phone died in 2020 after a night on the town, leaving him unable to call for a ride home.

Stranded with no way to reach help, Bailey came up with a clever solution—and that spark of inspiration has since earned him a hefty payout.

At 20 years old, he ended up walking home—which sparked a question in his mind: was there a way to charge a phone without lugging around a bulky power bank?

Bailey set out to design a sleek, wire-free phone charger that could be easily carried without taking up pocket space—perfect for nights out.

Remarkably, even after a long evening, he didn’t let the idea slip away. He jumped online to search, but nothing quite matched what he had in mind.

Determined to bring his vision to life, he threw all his savings into the project—right in the middle of his third year at university.

To top it off, he taught himself everything about power banks by watching YouTube tutorials, eventually creating a wireless charger that attaches directly to a phone.

“In my third year, I really had to buckle down and prioritize finishing uni while juggling my studies,” Bailey told the Courier Mail.

“It meant a lot of late nights and grinding through weekends to make up for what I couldn’t get done during the week at university. I told myself, you know what, even if I mess this up, at least I gave it a shot.

“I always tell young people—just give it a go. Put your ideas down on paper. It helps to have fresh eyes look over things and offer honest feedback. The biggest challenge is simply getting started, but once you do, you’re already halfway there.”

By Zip Zap’s fifth week on shelves, Bailey scored a spot on Sunrise’s Plugapalooza segment with Sam Mac—an appearance that completely changed the game for his business.

Just 48 hours later, Bailey had moved 1,500 units across Australia, eventually teaming up with major sports figures like Tate McDermott and Liam McWright.

Amazingly, Zip Zap pulled in close to $72,000 within six weeks—and it’s been crushing every goal ever since.
