After the woman was denied boarding for lacking the correct paperwork for her dog, an airport worker made a horrifying find in a dumpster.

On December 16, 2024, 57-year-old Alison Agatha Lawrence from Clermont, Florida, was reportedly denied boarding for her flight due to lacking the necessary documents for her dog.

Authorities state that despite being refused entry, Lawrence proceeded with her journey.

However, in an extremely troubling turn of events, she is said to have drowned the dog in a public restroom before security arrived and discarded its lifeless body into a garbage bin.

An airport worker later uncovered the dog’s remains and immediately alerted her supervisor and the Orlando Police Department about the unsettling find.

In her statement to the authorities, the employee mentioned seeing Lawrence kneeling in a bathroom stall, scrubbing up what looked like spilled water and scattered dog food.

A medical examination later determined that the cause of the dog’s death was drowning.

Surveillance footage from the airport’s security cameras captured Lawrence leaving the women’s restroom without the dog and proceeding toward the boarding area.

She was eventually taken into custody at her residence on March 18, facing charges of aggravated animal cruelty.

According to People, she was released from Lake County Jail only five hours after her arrest, after posting a $5,000 bond.

In Florida, those convicted of animal cruelty can face up to five years in prison and fines reaching $10,000.

Local news outlet WFTV interviewed Lawrence’s neighbors, Roy and Janet Fernandes, who shared they hadn’t spotted the dog in a while.

Janet remembered her husband remarking, “I don’t know why we haven’t seen the lady with the little white dog recently.” Then they were shocked to learn of the heartbreaking news.

The couple also revealed that they witnessed police officers arriving at Lawrence’s home when she was taken into custody.

Janet shared, “I kept peering outside, trying to figure out what was happening.”

“Then they left, but came back. He mentioned hearing a disturbance outside. That must have been when they arrested her.”

In response to the incident, State Senator Tom Leek issued a statement, saying, “This is yet another appalling example of why I introduced Senate Bill 502: (Animal Cruelty Offenses), which enhances criminal penalties for those who harm defenseless animals.”

“It is my pledge to ensure this important bill passes through the Florida Senate and House of Representatives and reaches Governor Ron DeSantis for his signature.”
