Raquel revealed that she had to start from square one when learning to skate for the role. The film’s professional skaters worked with a track featuring banked turns set at a 45-degree angle, making the experience even more difficult.
One day during practice, she took a hard fall and broke her wrist, causing production to be delayed for nearly eight weeks. “I dealt with aches and pains for quite a while,” Welch confessed.
