Amy Schumer Hilariously Claims John Cena Was ‘Actually Inside Her’ During Their Explicit Scene

Amy Schumer Claims John Cena Was ‘Actually Inside Her’ During Intimate Movie Scene

Amy Schumer recently made a bold revelation about filming a steamy scene with John Cena, joking that the WWE star was “actually inside her” during the take.

Schumer starred as Amy, a commitment-phobic party girl, in the 2015 romantic comedy Trainwreck, where she shared the screen with Cena, who played Steven, a fitness-obsessed boyfriend.

Their on-screen relationship led to an unforgettable and risqué moment — one that both actors have openly talked about over the years.

Schumer has never been shy about sharing her thoughts on Cena’s impressive physique. Reflecting on their intimate scene, she once joked (as reported by The Daily Star): “That body… it’s like another dimension. His butt? Unreal. Honestly, it felt like being crushed under a giant appliance.”

Keeping up her signature humor, she quipped: “Honestly, I think it was way tougher for him. He actually had to put in some effort. Me? I just did what I always do in bed—lie there.”

However, there’s one thing Schumer still kicks herself over. Laughing, she admitted: “You know what haunts me? I never got to feel his balls. It’s something I’ll always regret. Truly.”

Cena, on the other hand, had a very different takeaway from the experience.

Speaking on Conan back in 2015, the wrestling star admitted that filming the scene wasn’t exactly comfortable: “It was weird. They wanted weird, so that’s exactly what we gave them.”

During his appearance on Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe, Cena opened up about the unexpected challenges of filming the now-infamous scene.

He recalled being initially prepared to deliver lines but was later informed by the production team that his role would take a different turn.

“Amy is an absolute gem—she made everything feel comfortable,” Cena shared. “But then, at some point, they were like, ‘Yeah, so about your lines… we’re scrapping those. Instead, you’re going to do an over-the-top, ridiculous stunt scene.’”

For someone used to performing in front of massive wrestling crowds, Cena admitted this was an entirely different experience.

“You might think it’s just the two of us in the moment,” he explained. “Nope. There’s an entire world behind the camera.”

Painting a vivid picture of the set, he added, “Catering was right there. The sound tent was right there. A whole army of people is involved in making a movie—there’s absolutely nothing intimate about it.”

He laughed while recalling the director’s instructions: “They literally told us, ‘Make it as awkward as humanly possible.’ Now, try doing that with a full audience watching. It’s… different.”

Cena hesitated to call it a bad experience but admitted, “It’s just not what people imagine it to be.”

After Cena’s podcast comments, Schumer responded with her signature humor on Instagram Stories. Posting a playful video from bed, she captioned it: “John, how dare you.”

Doubling down on the joke, she added, “That scene was really important to me, and honestly… I was very into it. Also, I’m in love with you.”

Meanwhile, Cena admitted that he hesitated to tell his then-girlfriend, WWE star Nikki Bella, about the scene before filming.

“Nicole had every right to be upset,” he confessed in a past interview. “I should have told her from the start instead of just springing it on her after the fact.”

Schumer, on the other hand, has also shared her own behind-the-scenes tidbits about filming the now-infamous moment.

During an appearance on an Australian talk show, Schumer was asked how she managed to keep a straight face while filming the intimate scene with Cena. Without missing a beat, she joked, “Because he was actually inside me. Who am I to stop him?”

Her playful remark, clearly meant in jest, only fueled the humor surrounding their on-screen chemistry.

Sitting alongside her, co-star Bill Hader jumped in with his own witty take, saying, “Wrestlers don’t fake it. When they’re in the ring, it’s all real!”

Schumer doubled down on the joke, nodding and adding with a grin, “It’s real.”
