If she wasn’t able to spring for extra guests, she should have mentioned that up front instead of springing it on you at the door. To add insult to injury, your boyfriend didn’t even get a seat next to you. That’s humiliating and inconsiderate.
Noisily leaving after dessert wasn’t histrionic and disrespectful. You stayed for the ceremony and for food, then politely absented yourself from an unpleasant scene. Emily’s “ruined the vibe” complaint really means you didn’t allow her to treat you like an ATM with no consequences.
