AITAH for not giving up the bathroom to a Crohn’s emergency, resulting in their accident?

You’re not the A.

What happened was terrible for both of you, but it wasn’t a moral failure. You were already inside and clearly in pain, and you weren’t just scrolling through your phone or ignoring him out of spite. It’s perfectly fine to finish quickly instead of stopping in the middle of a bowel movement just because someone else has an emergency.

Understandably, he’s upset; having Crohn’s is awful, and accidents are embarrassing. But it’s not fair to take it out on you. The card might help him get ahead in line, but it doesn’t magically break the laws of physics. You can’t just teleport out of the bathroom if someone else is already in it. You were more understanding than most people would have been in that situation. You said you were sorry, you rushed, and you didn’t make fun of or ignore him. That’s all anyone could have hoped for.
