Celine Dion is often regarded as one of the greatest vocalists in the world, and many have tried—unsuccessfully—to replicate her unique sound. However, a 10-year-old Filipino boy, Peter Rosalita, comes incredibly close to capturing her essence.
For his America’s Got Talent audition, he performed “All By Myself,” a song Celine famously popularized in 1996. Interestingly, the song was originally written and performed by Eric Carmen in 1975, where it peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100. An even lesser-known fact is that it’s based on the second movement (Adagio sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18, written between 1900–1901.
With all that in mind, here’s a young boy, not even a teenager, taking on this massive song—and it’s no exaggeration to say that he absolutely nails it.
